YOGA: refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines that originated in India. The word is associated with meditative practices in Hinduism, Buddhismand Jainism.
I have engaged these meditative practices to enhance the everyday lives of young and adult Kazakh women. The amazing results of these practices can be seen in the obvious physical improvement of well being. I have been practicing Yoga with a small group of girls and women for the last year and I can tell you, it’s by far one of the most rewarding things I have done here. Definitely.

Welcome to the official website for campG.L.O.W.[Girls Leading our World] in Kazakhstan. We have enjoyed two wonderful years of campGLOW in Zhezkazgan and Satpaev cities. campGLOW is a 5 day "retreat" style camp that focuses on the empowerment of young women through education. We are looking eagerly towards our third year in July 2011. This website will be a resource for donors, other volunteers interested in beginning a campGLOW at their sites and anyone interested in a great example of how the empowerment of women is carried out through this amazing project. Not only will you find information on the young women who participate in activities preparing for camp all year around, but it is my goal that you will get to know them and better understand why this project is so valuable. You will also find information on womens studies, authors and texts that can be adapted to TEFL or ESL classrooms and clubs. This site is not just about campGLOW as a project but about the empowerment of young women everywhere. Please spread the word!
